Bringing scheduling, records, and care plans into one calm, connected workspace for clinicians.
View PrototypeManaging chronic and complex conditions often involves navigating multiple clinics, paper records, and disconnected patient portals. This makes it harder for physicians to monitor progress between appointments and leaves patients with little support in following their treatment plans. A unified platform with desktop and mobile apps could bring scheduling, reminders, billing, and care plans into one place, while simplifying practice management and symptom tracking between visits.
Provide physicians with a cloud-based practice management tool that enhances efficiency in clinics by automating administrative tasks, integrating patient data, and enabling personalized, data-driven care.

Objectives
Methods
There were 8 MDs and nurses that took part in the usability study and they all reported user issues on the existing desktop and mobile app platforms. The inability to view all patient data in the dashboard while scheduling meetings, combined with the need to leave the scheduling page to write reports and summaries, caused major frustration and slowdowns.
Across the sessions, three needs came up again and again — and shaped everything that followed in the design process.
Define
Inability to view patients' data for a quick review on the dashboard while scheduling subsequent visits.
Frustration at having to leave the scheduling page in order to write reports and summaries.
Not being able to see previous visits, with no option to update files while scheduling new visits.
Not being able to add patients' vitals, laboratory results, reports, and summaries in one page.
Problem statement
MDs and nurses using Wellzio desktop app in clinics need better scheduling features that will allow them to save time and reduce workflow interruptions when reviewing patients' information. They also need a modern, intuitive application that's enjoyable to use.
…design a scheduling screen that can easily review all the past patient's health information?
…design a feature on the scheduling page that will allow quick update on summaries and reports?
…design a screen view that permits smooth updates of existing files while organizing future visits?
Ideate
Using the identified pain points and HMW prompts as a guide, I mapped the end-to-end appointment scheduling flow and created low-fidelity wireframes. Two examples are shown here: the scheduling view and the patient vitals view.
Prototype
I redesigned the scheduling page that now consolidates all relevant patient information into a single, streamlined view. This improvement saves time and reduces workflow interruptions when clinicians review records, update documentation, and schedule visits.
I redesigned the scheduling page by addressing the key usability pain points identified by MDs and nurses. I ensured that all patient information could be easily viewed and updated without leaving the scheduling workflow. To this end, I restructured the user flow and leveraged existing design system components and UI kits to maintain consistency with the platform's visual standards.
Redesign
I redesigned the user flow for viewing patient information and booking appointments in the previous version of the WELLZIO app. The redesign was built using the updated design system and UI kits.
Patient summary screen with expandable sections and a clearer visual hierarchy, making information easier to scan.
Reorganized medical records into expandable categories to reduce scrolling and improve navigation.
