OVERVIEW Finding reliable and trustworthy childcare is a significant hurdle for families. Parents often face safety and trust barriers, time-consuming search to discover vetted babysitters with the right experience in their area when they actually need them. Existing options lack important features like an open channel for discussion of all the details of the hiring conditions upfront. CHALLENGE How might we create a trustworthy platform for parents looking for babysitters that can easily evaluate safety, availability and compatibility? Competitive audit was performed on 3 known platforms for hiring babysitters. All of them lack the feature of structuring responsibilities, expectations and working hours upfront, causing ambiguity and negotiation friction. The major point neglected is the background check, where existing options rather provide marketplace directory where the screening is left on the parents. Primary research identified key user needs: Confidence in sitter credibility and safety, fast discovery based on requirements, clear expectations before booking and frictionless booking and payment. PROBLEM STATEMENT Parents need a fast and trustworthy way to find, evaluate, and book babysitters, because existing platforms make the process slow, unclear, and emotionally stressful.
